![]() or cartoony? I dunno, I just don't really like them. I also don't really like any of the ball customizations from Golf It, either. Though I own both, Golf It was a gift, and I don't think I'd ever have bought it with my own money. ![]() But it may be because I played it game first (or partially due to that). Swing away in lush green fairways, the clutches of a kraken, and even a Worms battlefield in Golf With Your Friends, available now on. Admittedly, I like GWYF more despite not yet having Workshop, and I play it a *LOT* more often. Im not sure Im gaining much with the final lifting portion of the backswing. Or worse, it actually slows us down or throws us off. A lot of our movement is wasted, near the top end of the swing. The game scored a 9 out of 10 from Lyle Carr of, which was the highest score the game received. He thought that golf fans would fall in love with the game, especially with 'outlandish levels' and 'chaotic game modes'. There is definitely an 80/20 principle in amateur golf swings. Personally, I like both games and I plan to continue playing each of them. Golf with Your Friends received 'mixed or average' reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic. By the end of the second or third course, I was enjoying it.Īnother thing to note: GWYF seems to have a lot more options in regard to ball customization. But by the end of my first 18 holes, I was used to it. On each level, they will encounter 18 holes, so all in all, they will have to score 234 times. In this game, 12 players can participate in one team who have to go through 13 levels. The change in controls was very jarring at first, and unpleasant. Golf with Your Friends has been designed to offer players a seamless gaming experience filled with power-ups and knee-slapping mini-games. RMB will disengage the putter without hitting the ball, if you wish to adjust your aim. Golf with Your Friends is a golf video game by Australian developer Blacklight Interactive and published by Team17. **Note: when the putter is engaged, you cannot adjust the direction of your shot. This can be both a positive and a negative feature, depending on your point of view. It feels a little more like you're playing mini golf, but it's clearly not as easy to control. you pull your mouse back and push/flick it forward with the desired amount of force. Golf It! - Use LMB to engage the putter, then actively control the putter with your mouse. **Note: You can change direction while click-and-drag to adjust the direction of the shot while simultaneously adjusting power. ![]() GWYF - You click-and-drag to fill a power meter, then release and the putter hits the ball with that desired amount of force. The first and most impactful difference (imo) that I noticed was a difference in controls. ![]() That said, I think both games have their merit.Īfter playing a LOT of GWYF, someone in my group of friends bought Golf It for each of us since it had Workshop (and thus a lot more content). #GOLF IT OR GOLF WITH FRIENDS UPDATE#The map editor is currently available as a beta build and will probably be in the next big content update for the title.
